Standby Brownies

When you've eaten all of the chocolate in the house and you need a brownie fix stat, this is the recipe you're  going to turn to. Print it out and stick it on the refrigerator door next to all of your other emergency numbers. You never know when you're going to have to duck, cover and ingest a brownie.

Standby Brownies
from Donna Hay's Fresh, Fast, Simple
Makes 16

150g butter
275g caster sugar
75g cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs

  2. I'm printing it right now, I think I will keep a copy of it in my wallet too, just in case:) Super fudgy brownies are the best! The cakey ones just should not be legal, in my laws anyway! Believe it or not, cake is not my "go-to" dessert, unless it's saturated and dripping with something gooey:) I'm a pie girl, or a gooey girl..or a kitchen sink girl..heehee:)

  5. These ARE fudgeeeee Gabrielle. Because they are made with cocoa and not chocolate, they aren't as cloying (not that there's anything wrong with that) :)

  6. Hey Leah. Yes... a copy in your wallet... and car too, as part of a detailed emergency plan.

I agree, brownies are not cake. Any cake masquerading as a brownie will not be tolerated on this blog :) It's goooo all they way... say it sister.
