Put down that nasty cup of Banana-Buzz, All-Berry, Mango-Magic, Berry-Crush, Gym-Junkie with extra Protein (and extra sugar and calories and I-don't-know-what-else) Smoothie-trash from your local joint and get some of this Super-Duper Green Smoothie in your face.
Super-Duper Green Smoothie
adapted from Body+Soul
Makes 1
1 cup baby spinach leaves
2 teaspoons flaxseed oil
1 frozen banana
1/2 green apple
Flesh from 1/2 mango
Juice of 1 orange (I used a blood orange, but you can use any orange.)
1/2 Lebanese cucumber
1/2 cup water
6 mint leaves
Bung everything into a blender and blitz the daylights out of it. Right on.
I never thought of adding a cucumber in my fruit smoothie, must add such a fresh flavor. I need to try this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janette. The cucumber does add a freshness and it works particularly well with the mint.
DeleteAwesome colour! I love a good smoothie, and this looks particularly healthy (I love flaxseed oil, lately I've been using it on so many things).
ReplyDeleteFlaxseed oil gets dumped into just about all my smoothies. I love the Kermit green too.
DeleteI love it!!! I love smoothie and I'm trying to make some each week because it's so easy and so good and so nutritious. I nearly have everything on hand for this one, I should try it :)
